January 12, 2022Bulldogs,We are excited that students will be arriving back on campuses to begin Spring 2022 classes on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Navarro College leadership continues to monitor COVID-19 including the Omicron variant, along with protocols recommended by local, state, and federal health officials and Executive Orders.Following Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA-38 regarding best practices for mitigating the spread of COVID-19:
As with past semesters, all students, faculty, and staff who develop symptoms, have a positive COVID test, or have been in close contact with someone who has will need to complete a screening questionnaire at https://form.jotform.com/201756514356052 .You will be contacted by appropriate Navarro College personnel regarding your submission and next steps. Our class schedule for spring term will offer all learning modalities including face-to-face, online and hybrid. All students should check their Navarro College email and Canvas courses often beginning immediately for updates from their instructors. If students need assistance logging into their email or Canvas, they should call the Contact Center at (903) 875-7416. If students are uncomfortable with their scheduled modality of instruction, they are encouraged to speak with their advisor prior to the end of the first week of class to have their class scheduled changed. In the event our residential housing students begin to experience COVID-19-related symptoms, they must report immediately to their Area Coordinator or to the on-duty Area Coordinator at (903) 654-2778. If residents test positive for COVID-19 and are unable to relocate to their permanent residence, they will remain in their assigned rooms for a quarantine period. Those in close contacts to the COVID positive student will also need to quarantine unless they have been fully vaccinated. Students requiring medical care will be referred to a local provider.Additional information regarding COVID-19 as it relates to Navarro College may be found on the navarrocollege.edu website. We are again this semester relying on all members of the Bulldog community – students, faculty, and staff to do their best to keep our communities as safe as possible. With Bulldog Pride,Dr. Kevin G.
